BASTILLE DAY TRAIL RUN 2019

 

The Bastille Day Trail Run is a wilderness adventure, for which you need to be prepared – you have been warned! The Franschhoek Mountains in July can be covered in snow. The rivers are scenic yet cold. This Trail Running adventure sells out every year, numbers are limited. You are assured of a wild time, wet feet and rewarding OBS, served by French Maids.

THE BASTILLE FOOD & WINE MARQUEE

The Food & Wine Marquee, which is set against the backdrop of the historic Huguenot Monument, is the place to be and be seen. Sample the superb Franschhoek wines on offer or treat your taste buds to the selection of delicious gourmet fare available to purchase from some of Franschhoek’s well-known eateries. The quirky caricature artist who captures your Bastille experience and live music add to the elements for a fabulous festival. 

 

Taking it up a notch this year festival goers visiting the Food & Wine Marquee are invited to dress according to the theme – your finest red, white and blue French inspired outfit – to stand the chance of winning the Franschhoek Bastille Festival Best Dressed title. First, second and third prize winners will be drawn on both days.

Set in the heart of Franschhoek, the market promises visitors music, entertainment for kids, art, design and a host of food and drink options. During the Bastille festival, the market focus more on being family friendly, offering a bigger variety of food and wine with a few arts & craft traders. There will be special kids entertainment on these days. Live Bands for Saturday – Bottomless Coffee Band / Sunday – Coffee Snobs.

BASTILLE BOULES CHAMPIONSHIP

Hey Joe Brewery in association with Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) are hosting the annual Bastille Boules Championship on 13 July 2019 from 09:00 until 16:00.

A total of 30 teams (3 players per team) can enter at a cost of R450 per team or R150pp. The entire proceeds go to the SPCA. There will be activities all day for non-players which include social boules, live music, brewery tours and much more. There will also be spot prizes and raffle draws. This is an event for the whole family.
